Dr. Mayra Hernandez Schulte pursued a career in medicine because growing up, she and her family only visited a doctor when they were really sick. She realized the importance of preventative care, and wanted to become the doctor her family never had.

A graduate of the University of California Riverside, Dr. Hernandez Schulte completed her residency training in family medicine at White Memorial Medical Center in Boyle Heights in Los Angeles. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Health & Advocacy through the Reproductive Health Access Project in New York.

She is a member of the California Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

In her free time, Dr. Hernandez Schulte enjoys traveling, exploring new areas, hiking and camping, and spending time with her family.
